After nine years of writing and a year of principal photography, a profound and thought-provoking film titled In Search Of is finally ready to achieve orgasm. An all encompassing passion project for filmmaker Zeke Zelker, ISO deals with one thing that unites us all…sex. Zeke thoroughly "searched" for the perfect actors nationwide, and ended up casting talent from Los Angeles, Philadelphia and New York. Whether it's for love, lust, or even business, all of us want to get off. And while that statement might be true in any period of human history, Zelker reminds us that, in the 21st Century, a wide range of consequences can be the result, if we go in search of sexual satisfaction. This edge-of-your-seat cautionary tale will certainly inspire discussion, and probably condom sales.
Not one to let something small like a "budget" get in his way, Zeke refinanced his home twice to help get his vision out. After attempting to go the traditional fund-raising route (which he likened to "pulling teeth from an infant") Zelker decided he had to do it all himself. He was able to raise the budget through private equity and loans and succeeded in completing his film…all from his hometown of Allentown, Pennsylvania. Mr. Zelker was adamant about filming from home, as it serves not only as his inspiration but gives ISO the "everyday American town" feel that is intrinsic to the film's message.

Zelker is the type of DIY filmmaker who represents everything that IFD stands for. Zelker's brilliance of vision, creativity, and money-saving tactics are reminiscent of Robert Rodriguez's indie classic El Mariachi. The production built their own dollies, car mounts, hood mounts, and lazy susan dolly, among other things. Even more amazing, Zelker is a completely self-taught filmmaker. His film isn't just a good first attempt, it is downright brilliant. From the acting to the writing and direction, In Search Of isn't just a watchable film, or even a great one. ISO is an essential film. The film is an experience, as it leaves the viewer both stunned by the storyline and affected by its message.
