November 12 - November 23, Sao Paulo, Brazil. The Mix Brasil Festival is an annual cultural event with a focus on films and videos related to human sexuality in its various forms of expression. Originally an offshoot of the Mix New York festival, Mix Brasil has since grown to be the biggest showing of queer films in Latin America.

In 2007, an estimated audience of 40,000 people attended the screenings, parties, music performances and debates promoted in the festival's 15th edition.

Mix Brasil's program is as varied and fluid as the communities it strives to represent. The festival has a reputation for celebrating not only sexual diversity and all the thematic possibilities it presents, but also cinematic diversity, be it a lighthearted comedy or an avant-garde experiment (or, as is often the case, a film that defies instant categorization). We only ask that our audiences stay openminded, and in turn we will select works that showcase queer cinema in all its exciting forms.

Mix Brasil is held in November at prestigious movie theaters across Sao Paulo and takes full advantage of the diversity of the city to host a variety of innovative events (special programs include music, new media, and visual and performing arts). After Sao Paulo, Mix Brasil tours abridged programs to other Brazilian cities until mid-December.
